Monthly Archives: August 2015

Sunday 16th August

The exhibition has been so busy there has been no time to update the blog. However – we are so pleased with this venue and the lovely people who have visited the exhibition. We have met young people, about to study textiles at further education, artists who have discovered the “Textiles” is NOT naff, lots and lots of wonderful people , and we have loved to see the children enjoy our Tree Houses. The stories that have been woven in that small corner!

Saturday was the day of Liz’s Workshop and it was more than full house. 13  people enrolled , over half of which were beginners. It was a very successful day and everyone went home with at least two pieces of wonderful felt.

Workshop results

All these pieces were made on the workshop day.

Apparently there was a great call for another felt workshop by Liz.

The sale of artist’s work, both those hung and those on the sales table have continued to flourish. Thankfully some purchasers have agreed to collect their Textile Art pieces at the end of the exhibition, so they are still on display until 25th August.  There is only a week left  to see the exhibition.P1000911

Saturday 8th August

Two and a half weeks into our exhibition, and we are still meeting people who seem to really appreciate our Textile Art.  Most visitors have come specifically to visit the wonderful gardens of Sir Harold Hillier and they happen upon Zeronine’s exhibition.  It is really great when people stop and talk to whoever is stewarding.

The tree houses have been an amazing success and it is a delight to listen to small people making up stories, based on the trees.  The exhibition goes on until 24th August, so we hope you will be able to come along.
