Exhibition: Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, Ampfield near Romsey. 31st January 2017 – 20th February 2017

Jane Mayhew

Jane Mayhew: This piece was inspired by an Alpine painting from around 1920. Its shapes and colours just seemed to ask for exploration with a kaleidoscope of felting and stitching techniques. Most of the fibres and threads I have used are wool or linen. I have combined felt with canvas work and surface embroidery.”

We are eagerly looking forward to our forthcoming exhibition in the early part of next year.   Here is a glimpse of some of the exhibits to be seen in 2017.  However, they can be viewed to better effect “for real” at the exhibition plus many more wonderful pieces of Textile Art.

Anne Hellyer

Hosta   Anne Hellyer:  This piece was inspired by a visit to Hillier’s in the Spring of 2016. I have always liked Hosta’s; I love the texture and structure of the leaves. I completed this piece using my hand painted fabrics, free machine embroidery and Trapunto Quilting

Don’t miss our return visit to Sir Harold Hillier Gardens next year, when the amazing, renowned winter gardens will be at their best!
